HCM City, 19th November 2013- PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – stock code DPM), Phu My Fertilizer manufacturer have started to implement the program of awarding 606 scholarships, namely “Đạm Phú Mỹ” (Phu My Urea) Scholarship, for academic year 2013 – 2014 to students who had good academic achievements in colleges and universities nationwide.
Accordingly, from November 20 to December 20, 2013, PVFCCo will award sequentially “Đạm Phú Mỹ”scholarships for academic year 2013 – 2014 to studentsin colleges and universities nationwide: South-eastern region (in Vung Tau City); South-western region (in Can Tho City); Northern region (in Hanoi City), Central – Western Highlands regions (Quy Nhon City); HCM City and Cam Ranh – Khanh Hoa province.
“Đạm Phú Mỹ” scholarships for academic year 2013 – 2014 have total value of nearly 3.4 billion dongs, including 23 Honour scholarships (valuing 5 million dongs/scholarship). This is the “Đạm Phú Mỹ” scholarship program with the largest quantities and values so far.
Most of students receiving scholarships are in households of preferential policies, poor and near poor households, households in difficult situation but have efforts to have good academic achievements. Especially, among 604 awarded scholarships this time, there are 178 scholarships awarded to students who are the children of poor farmers’ families, 101 scholarships awarded to students who are the children of officers and men in mission at the Vietnam People’s Navy.
Since the “Đạm Phú Mỹ” scholarship program (formerly DPM scholarship) has been started in 2008-2009, it has awarded 2018 scholarships with total value of 11.8 billion dongs and is evaluated as one of the most practical scholarship programs with largest value.
