On 15 August 2016, Mr. Duong Tri Hoi – Vice President of PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) said that, despite the reduced demand on fertilizers last year as a result of drought along with the falling trend in fertilizer prices, as of July 2016, Phu My Fertilizer Plant of PVFCCo produced roughly 500 thousand tons of urea for the market, accomplishing 62% of the annual plan.
PVFCCo”s report showed that, as of July 2016, PVFCCo”s total output reached 765.6 thousand tons of fertilizers , achieving 67% of the annual plan, recording a 4% year-on-year increase. In that total, Phu My Urea”s output reached over 524 thousand tons, completing 63% of the annual plan, recording a 9% year-on-year increase. Management and selling expenditures are reduced by 4% compared to the same period of last year.
Previously, on 6 May 2016, Phu My Fertilizer Plant marked the milestone of 9 million tons in product output. The Plant is expected to reach the milestone of 10 million tons of fertilizers by September 2017.
