Further to the success of 2011 “Agriculture-Farmers-Rural” writing contest, on 1/3, in Ha noi, Nhan Dan News in co-operation with Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam Farmers’ Union, Petrovietnam organized a ceremony to launch the second contest in 2012.
Attending the ceremony were members of the Party Central Committee including: Vu Van Ninh – Deputy Prime Minister; Cao Duc Phat – Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Thuan Huu – Editor in Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Nguyen Duy Luong – Vice Chairman of Vietnam Farmers’ Union; Phung Dinh Thuc – Petrovietnam’s Chairman; Bui Minh Tien – PVFCCo’s Chairman along with reporters from mass media.
This year, PVFCCo remains to be the exclusive sponsor for the writing contest.
At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh gave directives for the 2012 writing contest. Accordingly, the contest should continue focusing on achievements of local agencies in the pilot process of new rural development as well as difficulties and obstacles in mobilization of resources for agricultural production development and investment; moreover, the contest should also praise teams and individuals, enterprises…recording high economic effectiveness in agricultural production; encourage exemplary observance of the Party’s resolutions on agriculture, farmers and rural areas. Besides, to the contest should criticize local agencies, individuals violating the Party and State’s policies and laws of agriculture, farmers and rural areas.
At the ceremony, the organizer announced the rules of the 2012 “Agriculture-Farmers-Rural” writing contest. Accordingly, contents of contestant works include: discovery of new, typical elements in the fields of plantation economic development, agricultural goods production; praising efforts of teams and individuals introducing new plants and animals to production; applying science technical advances to achieve high economic effectiveness in agricultural production; typical examples of farmers’ efforts in doing business and supporting the community; analyzing and proposing pratical, useful solutions and experience on agricultual development and building spritual and cultural life in rural areas.
The genres of works participating in the contest include: reports, investigations, narrations, portraits and photos. All professional journalists, reporters, collaborators around the country, officials, party members and people can join in the contest. There is no limit to the number of works of one author. The valid period to receive works is from 1/3 to 30/10/2012. The review and the prize-giving ceremony will take place on 27/11/2012. The prizes include: one A prize (20 million VND),three B prizes (15 million VND), six C prizes (10 million VND) and ten encouragement prizes (2 million VND).
