On Dec 23th morning, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Petrovietnam Fertilizers and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) staged a ceremony presenting “Luong Dinh Cua Award VI-2011” to 100 youths in Southern rural regions at Vung Tau city, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.
Previously, PVFCCo and Communist Youth Union have jointly celebrated “Luong Dinh Cua Award” ceremonies in Thai Binh and Da Nang city on August 7th and October 8th respectively.
Attending the ceremony were Ms Nguyen Thi Ha – Secretary of Central Youth Union, representatives of Ba Ria – Vung Tau leading officers, Mrs. NAKAMURA NOBUKO, wife of the late Luong Dinh Cua, Mr. Le Van Quoc Viet – Deputy General Director of PVFCCo and 100 typical young farmers from 20 Southern provinces.
The annual Luong Dinh Cua Award, which PVFCCo has been the main sponsor for last six consecutive years, organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and awarded to those creative young farmers who have outstanding performances in production & trading, transfers of new, advanced agriculture science, techniques and technologies, environment protection, new rural development process as well as positive contributions to their local union, social and organizational activities.
This year award recorded 300 youths nationwide out of which many came from ethnic minority groups such as Thai, Mong, Khmer, Dao, Van Kieu, X’tieng and so on.
Among the prize takers this year from Southern provinces, 3 are X’tieng and Khmer, 10 are females, 67 presently working in farming production facilities and businesses while 14 are business owners, entrepreneurs or co-operatives’ managers.
The prized production models have created more than 1,400 regular jobs and 1,900 seasonal jobs with stable income for local people to join and thereby help boosting much on local socio-economy where they reside.
