On 27/6/2012, Vietnam Oil & Gas Group held a press conference on China inviting international bids for 9 gas and oil blocks within Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf.
Mr. Do Van Hau, CEO of Vietnam Oil & Gas Group (Petrovietnam) presided over the press conference. Attendees of the press conference included representatives of domestic and international press agencies.
Mr. Do Van Hau said, on 23/6/2012 China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) made a public announcement inviting international bids for 9 gas and oil blocks lying entirely within Vietnam”s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf, just 57 nautical miles from Vietnam’s nearest shore in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa Province) and 37 nautical miles from Vietnam”s Phu Quy island.
