From 23 through 24 November 2016, PVFCCo South West (PSW) in collaboration with Dong Thap and An Giang Firefighting Police (FFP) held firefighting and salvage rescue drill at its two warehouses:  Thanh Binh (Dong Thap) and An Giang.

Aiming at fulfilling the tasks of propaganda, dissemination, instruction and practice of annual firefighting, salvage rescue at site, in the afternoon of 23 and 24 November 2016, PSW in collaboration with Dong Thap and Tien Giang FFP held the firefighting propaganda and drill.

Attending and supervising the drill were PVFCCo SW’s representatives along with Dong Thap and An Giang FFP firefighters and all PSW personnel working at two warehouses, the security team and stevedores on duty at those two sites.

The main contents of the drill covered the propaganda of ignition cause theory, specific fire characteristics, fire development and necessary responses of persons present at site, the handling of available firefighting devices, the practice of firefighting and salvage rescue with the hypothetical situation that the fire broke out  at the doorway of the fertilizer warehouse.  Under the professional guidance of Thanh Binh District and An Giang Province FFP, the participants coordinated with each other in harmony, calmly followed the right procedure, took the right actions and in a strict manner.

Through the drill, the personnel on duty at Thanh Binh and An Giang Warehouses, stevedores at the two locations have obtained and strengthened basic knowledge, skills on fire alarm, fire source recognition and handling the fire as well as other useful information.  This is one of the annual activities at depots of the Company, aimed at training and equipping personnel with skills to handle the fire in case of occurrence, helping them take prompt and necessary actions to save themselves and others nearby.  With hypothetical situations closely imitating actual fire accidents, and vivid illustration, the drill helps employees understand the importance of protecting life of their own and others nearby as well as facilities – commodities – properties of the Company.
