On July 03rd and 04th, 2015, in Cat Hung, Cat Thang (Phu Cat district), My Tai, and My Cat (Phu My district) communes, Binh Dinh Province, Central PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Joint Stock Company (PVFCCo Central), in collaboration with Red Cross Association and local government, organized “Phu My Fertilizer shares with drought region farmers” program.

 This program is a part of the VND1.2-billion aid package offered by PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Joint Stock Company to support thousands of families that are suffering severely from the lasting heat and drought in South Central provinces, and to help poor and marginally poor farmers and households with difficulties as subjects of the policy with materials for reproduction immediately when watering conditions become favorable. In which, Binh Dinh province is supported with 50 tons of Phu My NPK 16-16-8+13S+TE, equivalent to 2,000 gifts total value of which is VND510 million.

According to reports, the last drought in Binh Dinh has been the most severe in the past 10 years resulting in a great loss to the farmers. In the whole province, there is a total of 8,5000 hectares of plants suffering from water shortage, 4,335 hectares of which had productivity influenced. Farming in some regions was even halted up due to the shortage while farmers lack water for domestic use. The situation was so severe in other regions that immature crops were used as food for cows and farmers” life suffered from a lot of difficulties.

There is a good news that there has been rain and water in the upstream recently. So, in the upcoming time, farming may be resumed in the Central Coast.
