Material Topics

METHODS OF DETERMINATION (GRI 3-1)

The analysis and assessment of the materiality level of each ESG topic, compiled from stakeholder engagement combined with internal analysis, are conducted by PVFCCo in accordance with the guidance of GRI 3 under the GRI Universal Standards 2021. Annually, the responsible department at PVFCCo reviews and updates the results to align with national sustainable development trends, core business areas, and stakeholder expectations.

The entire analysis and assessment process is summarized into four main steps as follows:

STEP
Analysis of internal and external context

PVFCCo proactively analyzes ESG and economic factors from both internal and external perspectives, based on: strategic objectives, domestic and global trends, industry reports, legal frameworks, stakeholder input, risks and opportunities across the value chain, expert consultations, and reference to international practices (SDGs, industry ESG reports).

STEP
Assessment of actual and potential impacts

Based on the above, the Corporation assesses actual and potential impacts (positive/negative) on economic, environmental, and social aspects; combined with stakeholder and expert consultations to ensure objectivity.

STEP
Evaluation and ranking of the materiality of each ESG topic

PVFCCo evaluates the importance of each ESG topic based on impact level, controllability, financial and non-financial implications, risks/opportunities, and stakeholder perspectives. The results are presented in a materiality matrix, serving as a basis for prioritization and KPI monitoring.

STEP
Screening and deciding on the list of highest-priority topics for disclosure

From the materiality matrix, PVFCCo screens and submits the priority ESG topics for approval by the Board of Management, serving management, monitoring, and sustainability reporting in accordance with regulations and international standards.

MATERIALITY MATRIX

The matrix presenting the evaluation and categorization results of PVFCCo’s key ESG topics for 2025 is as follows:
