PVFCCo Officially Launches High-Quality DAP Phú Mỹ, Securing Supply for Vietnamese Agriculture

PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – stock code DPM, producer and trader of Phú Mỹ fertilizers) officially announced the successful production and market launch of its DAP Phú Mỹ product.

This marks a critical development step in the strategy to expand the company's portfolio of high-quality fertilizers and proactively secure the supply chain to serve Vietnamese agriculture. The Phú Mỹ NPK Plant, which serves as the "heart" of the DAP Phú Mỹ production line, is a state-of-the-art chemical technology facility and is currently the only plant in Vietnam capable of producing DAP. This clearly affirms PVFCCo's technological mastery and pioneering position in the fertilizer industry.

 A superior and distinct advantage of DAP Phú Mỹ is the extremely low level of Cadmium (Cd) heavy metal content. Analysis of the first production batch showed Cadmium content at approximately 0.25ppm, which is 50 times lower than Vietnam's national technical standards. This represents a strong commitment from Phú Mỹ to protect soil health, limit heavy metal residue, create safe agricultural products, and meet stringent export standards, aligning perfectly with the global trend of sustainable agriculture. The special granulation technology, combined with pure raw materials, ensures the fertilizer granules dissolve quickly and completely in sufficiently moist conditions, alongside a high nutrient content ($P_2O_5$ available at 46% and total Nitrogen at 18%). DAP Phú Mỹ enables crops to absorb nutrients rapidly, develop a strong root system, stimulate flower buds, and ultimately increase yield and enhance the quality of agricultural products. The product features a natural, undyed color, uniform size, and loose, non-caking granules.

Furthermore, the premium BOPP packaging offers excellent moisture resistance and durability, suitable for transportation and storage conditions in Vietnam. All production stages and quality controls are strictly compliant with Phú Mỹ standards, ensuring consistency before distribution. Starting in early December 2025, Phú Mỹ will distribute approximately 3,500 tons of DAP Phú Mỹ to the market, prioritizing supply to the Southern and Central – Central Highlands regions, where demand is high, and the issue of Cadmium residue in soil and water is a key concern for farmers and specialized agencies. With this higher-standard and safer product, DAP Phú Mỹ is expected to contribute to minimizing the risk of Cd residue, supporting farmers in transitioning to safe and sustainable cultivation processes.

A Phú Mỹ representative stated that the successful production of DAP Phú Mỹ holds strategic significance as the domestic market currently relies heavily on imports. Proactive domestic production helps stabilize supply, reduce logistics costs, enhance the ability to regulate the market, and ensure farmers can access high-quality products at a reasonable price. This is an important move in Phú Mỹ's long-term development strategy: focusing investment on modern technology, diversifying products, and increasing the proportion of high-quality fertilizers. Mastering DAP technology at the Phú Mỹ NPK Plant also boosts the company's competitive advantage, better meeting the demand for quality, safety, and efficiency from farmers and the dealer network.
