PVFCCo – Phú Mỹ Breaks Ground on Rooftop Solar Project at the 20,000-Tonne Warehouse of Phú Mỹ Fertilizer Plant

On April 15, 2026, at the Phú Mỹ Fertilizer Plant, PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – Phú Mỹ) joined hands with Điện Xanh Investment and Electrical Construction Trading Company Limited to hold the groundbreaking ceremony for the "Cooperative Investment Project for a Rooftop Solar Power System at the 20,000-Tonne Warehouse."

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Đào Văn Ngọc – Deputy General Director of PVFCCo, Mr. Trần Tuấn Kiệt – Director of the Project Development Management Branch, along with representatives from the leadership of Phú Mỹ Fertilizer Plant, the project supervision team, and implementation partners.

The project will be installed on the rooftop of the 20,000-tonne warehouse at Phú Mỹ Fertilizer Plant, with a total photovoltaic panel capacity of 1,653.225 kWp and an available output capacity of 1,375 kW. Construction is scheduled to take approximately 2.5 months, with the system expected to commence commercial operation in June 2026.

Implemented under a cooperative investment model, the solar power system will be financed, installed, and operated by the partner, while supplying clean electricity for use at Phú Mỹ Fertilizer Plant. SUN TIMES Energy Joint Stock Company serves as the EPC general contractor, bringing extensive experience in large-scale rooftop solar project deployment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Đào Văn Ngọc – Deputy General Director of PVFCCo — emphasized that the project represents a concrete step toward realizing the Corporation's green transition strategy, contributing to CO₂ emission reduction, improved energy efficiency, and optimized production costs. He also called on all participating units to uphold the core criteria of "safety – quality – effectiveness – on-schedule delivery" to bring the project into operation at the earliest opportunity.

As the industrial sector accelerates its green transition and decarbonization efforts, PVFCCo – Phú Mỹ is actively advancing its clean energy agenda. The continued investment in the 20,000-tonne warehouse project not only enhances operational efficiency and reduces costs, but also reaffirms the Corporation's commitment to sustainable development — strengthening its long-term competitiveness and enterprise value in step with the broader energy transition trend shaping the industry.
